The Kathi Crossing is a fast food chain serving over 30 varieties of delicious stuffed Paranthas commonly called Kathi Rolls.

The Kathi Crossing - the crossing dealing only and exclusively in age old scrumptious Mughlai preparation said Kathi Rolls, originating in the Calcutta of British Raj and interestingly at Nizam’s Restaurant on Hogg Street, around the year, they say, 1932.

After advancing to bamboo sticks (Kathis in our language; plural form) for serving Kebabs along with Parathas, the dish - with time, or by certain quirkiness, improvised - the Kebabs now were being rolled inside the Parantha! The local slang, however, remained; eventually becoming a common indication to Parantha (or any other bread) rolls of any stuffing.
